Wooden Castle

This is my favourite gift from Christmas. A wooden castle set for A - dreamed up my me and executed by my awesome hubby. Hubby is very patient when we work on these collaborative projects. I spend months describing what I would like, searching the internet and pinning images onto Pinterest to show him. Of course he puts his own spin on things.

We paired the wall blocks and towers with some Playmobil knights and two horses. A was really, really happy with his gift. He loves making castles and playing out little scenarios. This is a new kind of play for him and I am not sure if it is to do with his age or that he is inspired by the knight figures as this is the first time that he has had this kind of toy.

I love to see children enjoying homemade toys.

  1. Hi there Ronnie! What a wonderful christmas present you both made !!! The children must love playing with the castle and the knights !
Hope all goes well with the baby, she looks so sweet on the photos !
Your angel-swap has been fun I think. The little angels you send to me are now resting again in the box with all the other home-made tree decoration stuff and will come out next year. (my grandson especially loved that baby Jezus in his little crib !!)
    Have a good week.

    1. Thanks Els. The castle gets played with every day which is very satisfying except at the end of the day when we have to gather all the little knights accessories and put them into the basket for the night lol

  2. You are both so clever! That is a wonderful, magical Christmas present! What tool did your husband use to make to cut the pieces?

  3. Thank you for visiting. Hubby used a table saw to cut the pieces out and a chisel on the notches / turrets. then lots of hand sanding! lol
